"This flower is a stargazer lily. This photo was actually taken in August, at the Christian summer camp I work at in NH. It is my favorite type of flower, because of its colors and beauty. In this season, though, the stargazer lily reminds me of the wise men, who through faith journeyed a long way to meet the newly born king. How incredible must their faith have been, to see a star in the sky and follow it to the place where they would meet Jesus? I wish that I could say that when I found evidence of Christ's work in my life, that I praised him and had faith as earnestly as they did. 'We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him', they said. When I see God's creation and the beauty of nature, the delicate precision of this flower, I rejoice in His work. When I see these many blessings, the stars and signs of God's presence with us, I worship Him."
46-55 And Mary said,
I’m bursting with God-news;
I’m dancing the song of my Savior God.
God took one good look at me, and look what happened--
I’m the most fortunate woman on earth!
What God has done for me will never be forgotten,
the God whose very name is holy, set apart from all others.
His mercy flows in wave after wave
on those who are in awe before him.
He bared his arm and showed his strength,
scattered the bluffing braggarts.
He knocked tyrants off their high horses,
pulled victims out of the mud.
The starving poor sat down to a banquet;
the callous rich were left out in the cold.
He embraced his chosen child, Israel;
he remembered and piled on the mercies, piled them high.
It’s exactly what he promised,
beginning with Abraham and right up to now.
